Take a Deep Breath.

Sometimes life can truly make you feel like you're drowning, this blog post is here to remind you that that is not the case.

Whether life is feeling overwhelming, or like four walls closing in, it's imperative to take a step back and take a deep breath. Many times when people are feeling overwhelmed, they get so caught up in their feelings and emotions that they stop acting rationally. When in reality, if they took a step back they would have a better vantage point to view their circumstances and make the best decision. Well maybe not the best decision - but definitely better than one in the moment.

"Clear thinking requires courage rather than intelligence." - Thomas Szasz

A deep breath always allows someone to relax and reset, refocusing their energy in what is yet to come - instead of what had previously happened. It provides clarity. Once the feeling of stress and anxiety have subsided, it is much easier to get back on track and be productive. You can easily decipher what is happening around you in order to accomplish what is needed.

"Clarity affords focus."- Thomas Leonard

This is true in sports, in work, in school, and just in life. You never want to react - you want to respond. When you take a step back and take that deep breath you realize you were never drowning, you were scuba diving.
